Lynn Pulou-Alaimalo was born in Lauli’i, American Samoa, to the late Lea’ana Tavita Faamausili and Nu’uuli Tautu Pulou. Similar to a typical fresh-out-of-high-school islander deluged with great ambition and determination, Mrs. Alaimalo joined the United States Army that later assigned her as a Small Arms and Towed Artillery Repairer. During her tenure in the military, Lynn served as a schools representative, a personnel specialist and armorer. She traveled the world as a soldier, and began her institutional journey in Macedonia, where she found the thrive to return back to school.

Mrs. Alaimalo is married to SFC(R) Olomoana Christopher Alaimalo of Vatia. Her daughter, Cyncere, is a blessing and continues to be her greatest motivation. For more than 20 years off-island serving in the military service and employed in the civilian sector, Lynn procured substantial knowledge and experience in federal, state and local government related fields as educator, law enforcement officer, career counselor, case manager, education counselor and freelance writer, correlated to her academic achievements.

Mrs. Alaimalo has a diverse academic background ranging from completing her Associate of Arts at the City of Colleges of Chicago (Feb 2002), a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and Masters in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix (May 2014 & November 2015 respectively). Lynn attended Concord Law School to pursue an Executive Juris Doctor from Concord Law School (2016-2018), and is currently pursuing her Doctorates degree in Organizational leadership.

Mrs. Alaimalo was appointed by Governor Lemanu P.S. Mauga to serve as the Director of Human Resources on January 3, 2021. Her qualifications stemmed from global experience in previous careers, aforementioned academic achievements, and a constant adherence to her passion of hard work and setting example to the ever emerging generations of American Samoa.
